Conception Date

The conception date is a start of your real pregnancy. Conception can happen only on ovulation. The full length of pregnancy from the conception date is 266 days. See more information about how to get pregnant.

All references to the term of pregnancy everywhere refer to the term of pregnancy from the last menstrual period (LMP). They believe that the conception happens only on the 15th day of the menstrual cycle. Given this, the term of pregnancy from the LMP should be 280 days.

However for so many women ovulation doesn't occur on the 15th day of the cycle, thus the conception is not two weeks after the last menstruation, therefore the term of pregnancy and the due date can be calculated erroneously.
